Wiedemann Lampe Gallery and Standards Manual presented the book launch and exhibition: Identity, celebrating a body of work spanning 60 years from the seminal New York design firm founded in 1957 by Ivan Chermayeff and Tom Geismar. The firm’s contribution to design shaped the way corporate identity programs influenced culture.

The supporting exhibition was curated to highlight iconic selections from the firm’s previous and current clients, including Chase Bank, NBC, PanAm, PBS, and many more. The corresponding publication also included interviews with Tom Geismar and Sagi Haviv, plus written contributions from Milton Glaser, John Maeda, and Alexandra Lange.

In the new “compact edition” of the book — published by Standards Manual — over 70 new identities were added to the 300+ page monograph. With the introduction of Sagi Haviv to the firm in 2003, Chermayeff & Geismar & Haviv were able to continue producing brand identities with the same simplicity and impact as they had since their founding.

The exhibition was co-curated by Benji Wiedemann, Jesse Reed, Tom Geismar, and Sagi Haviv.
