Greg Barth: Simultaneous Vibrancies

Greg Barth: Simultaneous Vibrancies

Simultaneous Vibrancies was an immersive kinetic installation exploring the emotional resonance and perceptual instability of colour in motion. Through layered optical systems, shifting moiré patterns, and evolving chromatic relationships, the work transformed simple geometric structures into a fluctuating field of visual tension and exchange.

The exhibition treated colour as a living atmosphere capable of holding multiple emotional conditions at once: nearness, friction, longing, encounter. As compositions continuously dissolved and reformed, the works mirrored the fluid nature of human experience - the way feelings overlap, interrupt, coexist, and subtly shift through movement, memory, perspective, and the presence of others.

Drawing from colour theory, perceptual psychology, and kinetic art, the installation examined colour not as something fixed, but relational - shaped continuously by light, proximity, motion, and perception.
