If you were an interior designer in the UK, you would likely know Heathfield&Co. It is an iconic British designer and manufacturer that has been illuminating homes with thoughtful, design-led lighting for 40 years. On the back of the new e-commerce explosion, Heathfield saw an opportunity to expand beyond its current customer base and pivot to D2C. We worked with founder Andrew Watson and his team to rewire the business and design beautiful, personalised digital experiences that ultimately drive sales.
Out of the shadows, into the light
Over the years, the focus of Heathfield’s communications had switched to sales rather than design. But what makes Heathfield stand out is its own approach to product development – through global collaborations, co-creation and innovation it brings its exacting standards to people for less. We created the brand platform ‘Light Beyond Design’ to bring the philosophy, process and people behind these collaborations out of the shadows. We then founded Heathfield Studio, the internal design department, to create a bigger stage for the flawless work of the amazing creative team.
At the heart of this business transformation lies a new digital ecosystem, where every filament was considered and pieced together from the ground up. On the inside, it connects sales, operations and process seamlessly. On the outside, it delivers smart, personalised experiences that inspire people to buy.
A future undimmed
Incumbents can disrupt their own markets. By doubling down on its unique process, Heathfield is bringing its meticulous quality of design at a lower price point than its competition. And in doing so, it is simultaneously growing its B2B and D2C businesses. Looking forwards, Heathfield is poised for a very bright future.
